DWC is an organization that has always built on our past successes. We developed our new logo to both build on our history and also to reflect the Center’s growth and goals for the future.
Since the audacious first steps of our founders Jill and Rosa in 1978, we’ve travelled far. In recent years, we’ve more than tripled the number of women served each year. We've opened two new sites in downtown Los Angeles, expanded our housing, and launched our social enterprise MADE by DWC.
And together with you - our incredible community - we’ve ended homelessness for thousands of women.
DWC’s new look propels us even further forward, as we continue to innovate solutions. You’ll recognize some familiar themes, with a new twist!
A Women-Centered Community
Our new logo places emphasis on the women-centered care and community we provide.
DWC is built on a tradition of providing quality and compassionate services to the women of downtown Los Angeles. We’ve created a supportive, reciprocal environment that enables women to overcome their most urgent challenges - and, most crucially, discover a path out of homelessness.
A Supportive Home
The new look contains a design element that has been critical to DWC’s vision from Day One – a home.
We’ve seen firsthand that a supportive environment is critical to a woman coming out of homelessness. DWC is a national leader in offering Permanent Supportive Housing for women, a model that couples housing with wraparound services. Our co-located health clinic, day center, education and enrichment programs, are all keys to helping women achieve and maintain stability.
A Bold Vision
You may have noticed our new color – red! We chose a bold color to reflect our fierce and committed community, who will not stop until we’ve ended homelessness for women.
We know that DWC is no casual commitment for anyone. Especially not for our over 5000 volunteers, the life force that keeps our energy up and our doors open. Every day, our volunteers give of themselves and contribute to our success.

Our new tag line says it all: Homelessness ends here.
Today, over three and half decades from our founding , we’re taking the opportunity to make a renewed commitment. A commitment to continue to serve our most vulnerable women, to lift their voices, and to end homelessness for all.
We have accomplished so much together. Yet much remains to be done. Thank you for believing in our bold vision of a Los Angeles without women’s homelessness and joining the movement to make that vision a reality.
